A leading hospital chain in India turns to Cooling-as-a-Service

SHARE

KIMS Sunshine Hospital, a group based in Hyderabad planning 10 new facilities in major cities in India over the next 2-3 years, entered a 12-year CaaS contract with Smart Joules in order to adopt clean cooling solutions for its health centres.
The first project is currently ongoing and due for completion in early 2023.

Decarbonising health

Hospital HVAC systems are of critical importance for maintaining patients’ well-being and preventing cross-contamination especially as the Covid-19 pandemic has highlighted the need for proper indoor air quality.

On another hand, the healthcare sector is responsible for a significant amount of carbon emissions, with HVAC systems accounting for 60% of a typical hospital’s energy consumption. Hence, improving the efficiency of such systems has great potential to green the sector and reduce the operation costs of health facilities.

Cooling and ventilation are extremely important systems in hospital facilities.

Smart Joules’ created the revolutionary JouleCOOL solution, which is a cooling-as-a-service model that delivers efficient and sustainable cooling services through a build-implement-own-operate-maintain-optimise scheme. The company’s significant expertise can deliver the lowest life cycle cost of cooling, high-quality service and easy management. JouleCOOL tackles the high cooling costs through efficient design, intelligent equipment selection and optimised and automated operations.

The JouleCOOL model provides many benefits such as greater convenience for the client by dealing with a single entity instead of multiple equipment providers, removing the upfront capital investment usually required, and lowering the performance risks to zero as Smart Joules guarantees efficiency and takes full responsibility for performance among many others advantages.
