Our mission

Welcome to the SET Alliance! We are proud to build on the success of the Cooling as a Service (CaaS) and the Efficiency as a Service (EaaS) initiatives led by the BASE Foundation.

The Alliance also connects expertise from BASE projects including YourVCCA (agricultural cold rooms as a service) and Servetia (servitisation for buildings in Switzerland).

These projects highlight the need for increased efforts to scale the deployment and adoption of technologies ‘as-a-Service’ to keep improving end-user access to more sustainable energy systems to accelerate decarbonisation.

As a global non-profit initiative driven by its members, the Alliance provides support to different organisations exploring servitisation and seeks to support the development of projects around the world using as-a-service solutions.

Pioneers of servitisation for the energy transition

The Alliance was created by BASE Foundation alongside key organisations which form its Steering Committee, dedicated to furthering solutions using clean and energy efficient systems around the world.

The members of the Committee hold extensive and diverse expertises on the as-a-service model, effective business transformation, policy developments and market trends surrounding this major shift.

Members of the Alliance benefit from this wealth of knowledge and full access to the wider network of the Committee spanning across research and practice.

What do we do?

We empower visionary organisations to accelerate the energy transition through energy efficient, accessible, and service-based solutions.

Our activities are designed around four key pillars: raising awareness and knowledge sharing on servitisation, developing tools and materials to ease implementation, capacity building to deploy and adopt solutions, and conducting projects to scale impact.

1. What is the mission of the SET Alliance community?

The mission of the SET Alliance community is to empower visionary organizations to accelerate the energy transition through clean and energy-efficient as-a-Service solutions.

2. How can my organisation join the SET Alliance?

Joining the SET Alliance is simple! Please send us a membership enquiry on our join us page and we will arrange a follow-up call with you to discuss your organisation’s needs, your engagement and interest in servitisation, and relevant activities. Members of the Alliance pay an annual fee to be part of the community.

3. What benefits do I get as a member?

As a member of the SET Alliance, your organization gains access to tools, resources and support for understanding and implementing servitisation for clean and energy-efficient technologies. Additionally, you gain access to a network of collaborating entities with interest and activities in the model.

4. How much does membership cost, and what payment methods are accepted?

A breakdown of membership fees based on the size of your organisation is available on the Join us page. We accept all general forms of transfer.

5. Can I cancel my membership, and what is the process for doing so?

Terms of cancellation are listed in the membership document, feel free to send an email to info@set-alliance.org if you have further uncertainties.

6. What kind of content or activities can I expect within the community?

The SET Alliance’s activities are designed around four key pillars: raising awareness and knowledge sharing on servitisation, developing tools and materials, capacity building, and supporting project development to scale impact.

7. Is sensitive information secure?

We take data and privacy seriously and store all information securely. If necessary we can also sign a non-disclosure agreement with your organisation.
